By self-teaching, he’s able to focus on what he thinks is an area of need. Self-teaching requires self discipline, but by doing so he’s more flexible, focused, and can explore new areas. Unfortunately, there aren’t opportunities to network and ask questions.

Readings from industry authors such as Gary Vaynerchuk, and David Newman are a great way to get insights from professionals. Even taking courses through Google Analytics Academy and ClickMinded are great resources. A key ingredient to success is attentiveness. Lots of valuable information can be taught by being aware of everyday surroundings when examining local advertising, national advertising, and product advertising.
